A Doula is a non-medical professional to be at your side to guide you through labor and birth, as well as provide continuous supportive care. Your Doula will stay with you throughout your labor to make sure all your needs are met. She can also help assist you in evaluating your options to make a decision that is right for you. Your Doula is also there to help ease anxieties while comforting and guiding your partner - and certainly does not replace or detract from this role. Your Doula is with you the entire time of your birth to offer you complete emotional and informational support, as well as make sure everyone involved respects your preferences.
